Welcome to 7th grade! My name is Nikki Bachman. I am the History, Language, and Spelling teacher for the middle school. In addition, I teach various other studies, such as Literature, Health, and P.E.
SOMETHING ABOUT ME
I am married with five children. I was born and raised in a small town in Wisconsin; therefore, I am a "died in the blood" Green Bay Packer fan! I enjoy watching sports; soccer, football, baseball, short and long track speed skating, track and field, and hockey. I am a voracious reader. I especially enjoy reading historical fiction and fiction books about the Civil war and WWII eras. I take pleasure in fishing and camping. I like to travel. I am very interested in visiting historical sites. I have been to most of the Continental United States, Canada, Mexico, England, and Germany. In 1982 my family and I moved from Wisconsin to Southern California where we resided until relocating to Utah in 1994.
I began my college career at University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse. I completed my B.S in Sociology, with concentrations in both Marriage and Family and Juvenile Delinquency Corrections at Cal-State- Long Beach. In addition, I took additional credits in Early Childhood Education at Orange Coast College in Santa Ana, CA. I acquired further courses in History and Literature at Weber State University in Ogden, UT. I received my Masters in Education from University of Phoenix. I carry a Utah Secondary Teaching credential.
I began my teaching career in CA in 1986. Upon our transfer to Utah, I accepted a full-time position at St. Paul Lutheran School in 1996.
WHAT I TEACH
As a teacher, I am willing to work with students of all ability levels. I strive to accommodate when needed to help each child excel. My classroom is one of mutual respect for all. The children know my expectations, and we work together to achieve those goals, both socially and academically. It is my firm belief my students should not only learn about Christ, but also how to imitate his life. I try to model His love to my students. As a Christian educator, my first responsibility is to make sure my students understand the gospel saving message of Christ.
Throughout the year, I endeavor to teach my students all they will need to know to be academically successful in their next grade. I hope to get them more organized and ready to accept new responsibilities. I encourage them to express themselves in a respectful manner. As a personal goal, I have a desire for each of my students to feel successful and satisfied with themselves everyday. We begin each day with pledges to our flags (the US and Christian), prayer, and devotions.
